• Instrument Rental FAQs

    • Why rent instead of buy? Renting an instrument at the beginning offers the flexibility of exchanging an instrument for another (with director's approval) at anytime, upsizing a string instrument, or upgrading to an intermediate or artist quality instrument.  If your child does not continue with his/her instrument, it can be returned with no additional charges.
    • Is there a long term contract? No. This is a month to month rental program and the instrument can be returned at any time without additional charges.
    • Will I eventually own the instrument if I continue making payments? Yes. The number of payments to own an instrument varies according to the purchase price.  However, you have the option of applying up to 24 months of the accumulated base rental payments in some cases (minus LDW insurance and sales taxes) to the purchase of an upgraded instrument or a new instrument. Discounts are available for the purchase of a new instrument.
    • Do you have an instrument insurance/maintenance program?  Yes, it is called LDW for Loss Damage Waiver.  The instrument is protected against theft or damage beyond repair.  Loaner instruments are provided to students (when available) while our service professionals repair the instrument. A small monthly fee may apply.  Ask for details
    • Am I able to rent a new instrument?  Yes.  You can rent right away if it is in stock or we can order it for you and you can pick it up in 2-6 business days. You must come to the store to rent new instruments.
    • Do you have an online rental program?  You can rent online at www.rentfromhome.com Only used instruments from Group 1 or 2 can be rented online.  You can choose to have it delivered directly to your home or work or pick it up from The Music Hutch Studio. Note: You must be present to sign for an instrument shipped to you directly.
