  • Laurelanne Davis - Voice Teacher

    Teaching Day: Thursdays

Laurelanne is a professional musician with a background in music education. She provides voice lessons and vocal coaching to all ages. Skills taught include music theory, reading music and performance skills on the beginner or intermediate level. She also teaches children’s general music classes including “Musical Me,” and yoga stress reduction classes called “The Musical Mind.”

Laurelanne graduated from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia with a B.A. in Music Education, Voice Principal. During her years in public schools, she taught a variety of age ranges and subjects including kindergarten general music, beginning band, high school chorus and remedial middle school English and Language Arts.  She has professional yoga training and enjoys incorporating aspects of that training when working with adult, high school, middle school and elementary school students.  She also uses yoga, brain respiration and other healing techniques when working with small groups of children and adults.

She was a member of The William Baker Festival Singers and Summer Singers since 2003 before becoming Media Relations Coordinator in 2006 and Assistant to the Music Director in 2008.  She left the group in July of 2009 to pursue other musical ventures.

“You are never too young or too old to learn. Most adults who start taking lessons as adults are doing so because they didn’t or weren’t able to when they were younger.  I employ lots of music and healing techniques, especially relaxation and visualization, along with some physical movement with the music.”

“I hear music in the laughter of children. Their souls dance in rhythm to their smiling faces.” – Laurelanne Davis
